Filming Lahul is a visual ethnographic project which began in 2014, with the goal of creating and promoting grounded visual research on diverse socio-cultural processes in contemporary Lahul, Himachal Pradesh, India.
The project will eventually culminate in a full length documentary. Meanwhile, through this space, we’ll share project updates and post short video fragments on themes relevant to valley and the Trans Himalayas as a whole. We aim to utilise documentary art as a medium to facilitate grassroots dialogue and collective action on transformation processes unfolding in Lahul.
We look forward to your comments and feedback upon the material posted.
